Secretary Bird in Accordion Dress

$400.00
sold out

The secretary bird already sports those signature quill-pen feathers, so a little structural drama was always its destiny. Here it is poured into a pleated, tiered accordion of oranges, greens and soft browns, built with deliberate dips and valleys that fold light and shadow across the surface for real dimension. That construction comes straight from my background studying architecture and interior design, carried into the making of the piece itself. The dress takes its cue from Issey Miyake, one of his most famous, flamboyantly geometric couture pieces. Miyake meets blueprint: structural, sculptural, and quietly fabulous.
