Sleep Time takes one of the most familiar images of Australian wildlife, a koala sleeping high in a eucalyptus tree, and gives it a little glamour.
Rather than simply curling up amongst the branches, this koala settles in wearing a luxurious purple dressing gown trimmed with deep purple faux fur. Because apparently even sleeping requires a look.
Resting peacefully above him is a rosella, nestled close to its sleepy friend. The pairing turns the scene into something tender and intimate, with both animals completely at ease in one another’s company.
The work closes the collection on a softer note. After the leather, coffee, workouts and meditation, our final bear has only one thing left on the agenda.
Dimensions: 30 × 30 cm
Medium: Textile Collage (Using repurposed materials)
Framing: Black shadow-box frame with glass
